I had a recruiter screening that lasted 30 minutes. During this conversation, the recruiter shared information about the company and its benefits, and asked me questions about my skills and experience. She mentioned that she would follow up within two days to schedule an interview.
However, almost two weeks passed, and despite my two follow-up emails, I was left without any response—no interview scheduled and no rejection email. This lack of communication is concerning, as I believe that all professional and reputable companies should at least send a rejection email.
Leaving a candidate in the dark after indicating that there would be further communication is unprofessional and can be indicative of a toxic work environment. It's important to follow through on what you say.
