      Entry Level, Finance Department Interview

      8 Mar 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Bose (Boston, MA) in Sept 2013

      Interview

Behavioral interview, "big corporation" environment; questions are in regards to previous employers/experience. Nothing was really difficult. Management looks friendly, asks standard questions, and expects you to strictly follow the interview protocol. Your one little step to left/right from straight line of interview-discussion standards will negatively affect the hiring decision. Your personal appearance including your physical shape (read: age) seems to be an important factor too. I had an impression that they prefer young "girls/boys" possessing all related features of "employees of big corporation". The "like/dislike" attitude is another important factor in the process of making a hiring decision. I felt it immediately, and I was not surprised by the rejection letter. I just was curious regarding an official reason of rejection. However, HR representative never responded to my polite inquiry on the reason of rejection. Honestly, I was not happy with HR from the beginning: they look forgetful, overwhelmed, have little incentive in paying attention to the applicant. In order to get a job you have to shoot answers to questions in the same way as answers written down on their cheat lists, or you will not be considered to the position. Who cares of your unique experience or a value that you want to contribute to their business? So, why should I regret about this "missed" opportunity?
