I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Aug 2010
Interview
I actually didn't have a real interview for this position. I was contacted by a member of my department faculty. My field had so few students it was not a matter of getting a position. It was more about which one you would be assigned. We were expected to contribute in some way since we are all on scholarship and assistant-ships. I was simply asked if I wanted to TA or research. The assignments and hours varied depending on the semester though.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Brigham Young University (BYU) (Provo, UT) in Oct 2013
Interview
It was simple, walked in and told them how great I was. That is all it took. Asked and answer questions. The interviewer was quick, smart, knew his stuff. The questions were about the tasks and skills needed. No stupid questions about frogs leaping out or a box to test ones thinking skills, just straight forward real interview.
