      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Chapman Black in Feb 2017

      Interview

Had an interview here, it seems unprofessional as there is no private room to conduct interviews. Plus there are other people having interviews right next to you. You are interviewed by three people who ask you the same questions. It seems like they just use interviewees for training purposes and never really have any intention of hiring anyone. The office seems loud and immature as well.

      Interview questions [3]

      Question 1

where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
      Answer question

      Question 2

      Answer question

      Question 3

Thanks for your feedback and comments, we will be mindful of future candidates being asked the same questions. We are growing rapidly and filling the office, we also have a transparent flat structure where only the CEO has a private office. The first stage interview is designed to be informal and take place in an open space. During our second stage interviews candidates spend more time with senior managers in private offices, no one is hired without meeting the MD, Head of Recruitment and managers from each of our divisions. We have high expectations at ChapmanBlack and have to meet a lot of people to ensure we get the right fit for both parties. I hope this goes someway to explain the rational behind the process. It is fair to say the office is young,, but I would go with fun rather than immature and our sales floor is loud by design, we don't want t a quiet office! Regards Richard Blackburn Co-Founder

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Chapman Black (London, England) in Oct 2017

      Interview

I had a brief telephone interview, after which I was invited for an interview in the their office. My interview was at 10am. I arrived at 9.45 and left the office at 10.05. I was seen straight away by the recruiter I had talked to over the phone, but was asked the exact same questions from the telephone interview. I was then passed onto an unsuspecting, uninterested and random colleague, who hadn't even read my CV and wasn't even listening to my answers. But who can blame him though? We were interviewing in the noisy office bar, where people were making deals over the phone as I was trying to interview. Who could focus like that. It was an utter waste of time. If you are going to spend only 10 minutes asking questions, a Skype interview would have been more appropriate.

      Interview questions [3]

      Question 1

When have you had to hit targets?
      Answer question

      Question 2

What do you do in your free time?
      Answer question

      Question 3

What would you spend your commission on?

We take negative feedback as an opportunity to review the interview process. All interviews should be at least a min 30 minutes as stated in the interview preparation email that is sent out. Going forwards interviews will take place in one of three meeting rooms if all rooms are busy then it will take place at the office bar. I feel the idea of more Skype interviews would be beneficial however the candidate would not get the chance to see the office. Thank you again for letting us know your thoughts
