I went through a total of 3 rounds of interviews. The initial round, the 2nd round with the team lead diving in to the more specifics of the job and the 3rd round, a phone interview with their HR.
In the 3rd round, the HR person named Noemi warned me about how the process after the contract is offered will take 3 months due to the visa situation, and that I must be purely committed for this long process, because they cannot afford someone backing out in the middle. Since this is during Covid in June, I seemed a little hesitant with the answer since basically this was the only thing she talked about for the 10 minute interview. After 2 weeks, she emailed me saying that they will not move forward with me because I was hesitant, which is very reasonable considering how I will have to move to a different country during a pandemic.
After clearing up some misunderstanding That my hesitance does not equal lack of desire for the opportunity, which should be obvious, they offered me a contract after 3 weeks.
Now during the visa process in the 3 months, this Noemi suddenly said that I was not committed and that I should move on from the position. This is despite me handing in all the documents and the company not replying to my emails for assistance for a month. I expressed this frustration, and few days later she told me that the border at Hungary shut down so I should find employment locally, for it might take much longer for me to actually start at my position. I emailed her back expressing how I have already put in financial and personal commitment for the relocation, including my notice of resignation from my current position locally. (This is at the end of September) Few days later she sent me an email saying that the company will be retracting their offer. There were no signs of apologies or regret, and basically she tried to blame me for my “lack of commitment to the process.” I emailed her several times in a civil manner stating how I understand how things fall through during a pandemic, but how I wanted to talk to somebody else from the company, at least not just by email since I have committed my last four five months to this position. She ignored ALL of them.
Do not apply to this company. They don’t care for their candidates. They routinely ignore you, very unclear with their process and will not aid you. Their onboarding process including their online platform is awful.
If your HR person is Noemi, STAY AWAY. Just don’t bother even going for the position, the pay isn’t even good anyways.
