I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Compass (New York, NY)
Interview
Interview was strictly behavioral, no technical questions were included. Interviewers were kind and all clearly passionate about the Compass mission and brand. Seemed most concerned with "customer" service, aka keeping real estate agents satisfied with the Compass suite.

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Compass (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2022
Interview
Had my initial screening call with a recruiter, I won’t name names... I was incredibly caught off guard by her belittling, dominant behavior and attitude. While she was very knowledgeable and timely in her responses, this was one of the worst interview experiences I’ve ever had. She didn’t ask me to tell her about myself or give me time to elaborate on my experience, she talked most of the time and barely took a breath. When she actually gave me time to ask questions, I asked her if she was able to disclose the salary range or budget for this position and she said, “I’ve been doing this over a decade, so yes, I can disclose whatever information I want to”, as if I asked a stupid question. I had to ask her again for a dollar amount because she didn’t give it to me the first time and instead made that comment..
I asked what she would think the employees at the location I applied for would say one pro and one con of working at Compass is. She paused for a minute and I said, “or even if you have a pro and a con-“ she cut me off and said “yes I understand the question, I’m just thinking.” … there were several different times she behaved with this “know it all” or “better-than” attitude.
I left the interview (that I initially felt confident and excited for) thinking I didn’t know if I was just helping her meet a quota and she really didn’t care, if I actually performed badly, or if she just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I could even assume that I was so caught off guard that I did perform badly! Her LinkedIn and the company looked great from the outside looking in. Then I thought, maybe I dodged a bullet if they hire people with that attitude…
