I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ConocoPhillips (Bartlesville, OK) in Dec 2011
Interview
3 conversations with random people from recruiting and IT. Took about 2 hours as I recall. Unfortunately very few technical questions, and mostly questions about team work and subtle hints that I'd have to fight my way through even moderate disagreements. Generally, though, they wanted to make sure people were entirely clueless and had actually pursued a moderately technical education in college. Ultimately it was more about how social you could be. Was a bit shocked that I succeeded as an introvert.
