I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Contentsquare (Fairfax, VA) in Nov 2021
Interview
I'm someone who weighs the recruitment portion of the process quite heavily into my decision. I can confidently say that I have never had a better recruitment experience.
The recruited reached out to me on LinkedIn and since I had planned to that position, we set up a phone screen. She was very pleasant and always respectful of me and my time (that's very important to me). Throughout the process, she always kept me informed about the interviews I was going into so that I could prepare accordingly.
It took exactly a month from my first interaction with the company to getting an offer:
- Week 1: Scheduled phone screen and had it with the recruiter a few days later.
- Week 2: Scheduled my second interview with a senior member of the team for later that week. A little after that we scheduled a case study interview giving me adequate time to prepare.
- Week 3: Presented the case study to that same senior member of the team as well as the hiring manager. There would have been a 4th a final interview but since we finished the case study presentation in time with 30 minutes to spare, they were gracious enough to let me have a one-on-one with the hiring manager so that we could move things along.
Week 4: I got a call letting me know they wanted to extend an offer to me. Followed by the welcome email and the offer email.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Interviewing was not difficult (it was conversational, and they really just wanted to understand whether I was a fit for the job and a fit for the company. No trick questions and no stress testing...Just candid and authentic).
- Walk me through your previous experience,
- Why this company?
- Why this position?
The case study, on the other hand, was definitely a challenge.
Part 1: I was given a scenario and some info on Contentsquare's product and metrics based on which I had to role play giving a presentation to a client.
Part 2: I was given a question (beforehand) that I had to answer and back up using examples from my previous experience.
Part 3: They provided me with a scenario (not given beforehand) and I had 5 minutes to develop my answer and share it with them.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Contentsquare
Interview
4 stages:
30min recruiter phone interview > 30min interview with a Customer Success Manager on Zoom > 45min Case Study presentation with a panel on Zoom > 30min informal interview to answer any questions that I had
Through each step, I received notice of whether I was moving forward to the next round or not within 1 business day.
My final interview was on Tuesday and I received an offer on Wednesday
Overall, the process was very smooth and straightforward. I'm only rating it difficult because I have no tech experience so it was a huge learning curve for me, but doable if you're determined and resilient.
