      Software Developer Interview

      4 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at DailyPay

      Interview

Strange. There's 4 rounds which in my opinion is overkill and not fair on people who need to take time off work to go to these interviews - First round with talent recruiter, then a chat with manager, then code interview with 2 devs and finally a design interview you have to go into their office and whiteboard up a design for a software system etc. I got to third round. The manager interview and code interview were strange. They didn't ask proper interview questions, it was more like an informal chat but then with some confusing questions thrown in that were not worded very well in my opinion. The 2 devs interviewing me came across a bit patronising. The whole experience was not great.

      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at DailyPay (New York, NY) in Feb 2023

      Interview

the interviews consisted of 3 rounds: behavioral, coding technical, then architecture technical. Coding and behavioral were straightforward but architecture with ruby on rails definitely takes you for a spin. You needed to have rails already working on your local machine which can be a big blocker since ruby/rails is notoriously difficult to download.
