      Internal Auditor Interview

      18 Mar 2009
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Direct Energy (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2009

      Interview

First off let me say on the onset that I was not offered a job. I was eliminated in the 2nd round of interviewing process. For this particular position, it took them 1 month since i submitted my application to contact me for an initial interview with the HR which was extremely short (20min) that was behavioural style driven asking me to provide examples of specific experiences that met the critical requirements of the job. The process thereafter was quite swift. They contacted me within the week of that inital phone interview for a second interview that involved 1 hr 1:1 with the hiring manager and then a 2 hr written exam. Obviously, i didn't get an offer but I'm not sure whether it was the exam or the interview that did me in. I have grown accustomed to companies that just completely ignore you if you're not their ideal candidate regardless of the stage in the recruiting process you advanced to. I find it a bit disrespectful but it's so common I have learned not to take it too seriously. My feeling about this company is that it's big and bureacratic.
