I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Dollar Tree (Chesterfield, MO) in Apr 2009
Interview
There was no real interview. It was actually more of a more detailed job description in which the hiring manager gave me a tour and introduced me to some of the staff. I did all the paperwork that day and started working within two days. I didn't even have to have a social security card right away for the background check, but I did have to provide it three days later. Also, there was no drug test as that was probably a good thing for the rest of the employees because I bet half of the employees would have failed it.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
The pay is only $7.05 per hour, which is minimum wage. Would this be a problem for you?
Brief and to the point, not a lot of questions, mainly checking availability and other minute details. As long as you have relevant experience, the hiring process is short. The longest part was the background check which can be slow.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Dollar Tree in July 2025
Interview
quick and laid back, asked a few questions about your work experience, does let you know ahead of time to bring two forms of ID. They make you feel comfortable enough to understand what the job entails and walks you around the store to let you know where things are and what to expect.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Dollar Tree (San Antonio, TX) in June 2025
Interview
I interviewed and it went well and then I was given a background check and then ghosted after it came back clear. I guess they didn't really need help after all.
