      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at EMPIST (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2018

      Interview

Phone Interview brief and easy with their corporate recruiter. After a week or so I was invited on side technical interview whit the HR and engineer. The interview was around 30 minutes, very general networking questions which I managed to answer all of them. The very next day they invited me on the third interview with their SEO. Never been in such a weird interview! The CEO asked me a question about my current position after I answered what I am doing on daily bases. He asked me if my boss knows that I am looking for a new job and how my company will manage the site without me???? He tries to ask me what is my nationality which I don't think so that is really important or legal. He made a cynic comment "Saing I see you speak a few languages even tough Macedonian is not really a language ". The CEO was Greek!

The Network Admin Engineer role takes a very specific background and skill set. We ask candidates what they have done in their previous roles to get a better understanding of what they did on a day-to-day basis. They need to be the go to person for all our engineers and be extremely strong with their Network capabilities. Clear communication and leadership skills are necessary. We are an international company working throughout many countries, so speaking different languages is a big plus, but not mandatory.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at EMPIST (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2018

      Interview

I applied for Network Administrator Engineer position. A couple days later I spoke with HR and received a .docx assessment via email. Assessment document had typical CCNA questions like, what is: ARP, TCP vs UDP, VPN, MAC address, Net topologies, MTU, crossover cable. etc.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

During actual interview, I was asked more CCNA questions like was are: port number for SSH, DNS, HTTP, explain 3 way handshake, explain troubleshooting process from L1 to L7. Also, how would you find the MAC address from a PC via live switch CLI commands. You'll also get a few behavioral questions, nothing difficult. Their looking for someone long term seems to be the objective.
