I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Ethan Allen (Cleveland, OH) in Apr 2012
Interview
After initial interview, asked to return for a 3 hour design practicum. Given a fake client bio, budget and floor plan to complete using resources in design center. When complete, must present to management (as they role play the fake client) in order to "sell" your design. (At the time, I was unaware the "manager" had no design education or training, no college education, and had began working at Ethan Allen as the front desk receptionist.) After the interview, it took 3 months to get a reply with an offer (which I accepted).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions were typical "objections" a client might say or ask.
It was a conversational interview, not the usual strength and weaknesses questions. Definitely structured to see how well you can keep a conversation going with customers, talk about design and be all around personable.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ethan Allen (Chicago, IL) in June 2019
Interview
The interview process was very friendly and casual. They wanted to discuss their new concept location with me and were very interested and excited to give me information on their process and products.

what made me apply for a position with the company
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ethan Allen (Ada, OH)
Interview
Nice pace of the interview. Easy communication. Did have to do a design exercise which involved a fake client. Had to design their living space with the information given about them and present it to the managers. Overall a nice experience.
