      Creative Director/Marketing Director Interview

      17 Oct 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Saint Louis, MO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Express Scripts (Saint Louis, MO) in Nov 2012

      Interview

I interviewed in four separate interviews from Nov. 2012 - Feb. 2013 (not counting the time spent with a recruiter and with HR.) Each interview was with a different person, and each had a very different perspective of the job; the hiring manager's boss even cited a different title (which is why I've listed two here.) People seemed overworked and entrenched in the process of the merger. "Legacy" is a term they use for Express Scripts personnel. I was actually called (by my recruiter) and told to stay home one day, my job offer was coming via courier. No show. Recruiter called me in the afternoon to say it would come the following Monday. No show. No follow up response at all from ES. Two months later I get a call directly from ES asking if I'm still interested in the position. I gave this new HR person my history with interviewing, but did not lead her to believe that ES was the company for me. Never heard back. Go figure. I've heard that many people there are stretched thin, and that work/life balance is difficult. I believe in treating people fairly and transparently. My interview communication process was poor; clearly indicative of a work environment to be very cautious entering into. Or avoid recruiters. They don't seem to be in the know with what's happening at this company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

All four of my interviewers seemed less prepared for the interview than me. The hiring manager seemed very interested in my background; I believe I had more experience than this person, and I was convinced this person wasn't happy in the position they were in.
