I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FanDuel (New York, NY) in Mar 2020
Interview
I first received phone call from the hiring manager. Was then given a take home assignment that took about 2.5-3 hours to complete. Finally got called in for an onsite interview. The onsite interview was scheduled to be 2.5 hours long but ran a little late as conversation was flowing. The first hour was a live coding exercise and the next hour was a series of API design questions. Finished off with a cultural fit discussion with HR.

Interview
Applied via their website. Got a video interview with a hiring manager. I answered some basic interview questions. The decline to go forward even though I have all the experience and skills mentioned in the job posting. They seem to have criteria that goes well beyond what is covered by the job description.
I have spent a lot of time researching the company and they are obviously shopping for employees, having the same position up for months.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at FanDuel in June 2024
Interview
First step was a recruiter screening with typical resume questions and past experience with team's tech. Next round was technical questions with engineers (e.g. what are the 12 principles of OOP, how do you handle code reviews, etc.). Final round was 3 interviews consisting of a coding challenge (handling concurrency & refactoring object to be more generic), system design (design article website like medium.com), and a behavioral interview with the hiring manager.
