    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Foxtel.

    Interview

Job description too broad and did not quite match the questions asked during the interview. I am also not sure if the hiring managers actually reviewed the resumes before inviting for an interview. Particularly in my case, I was hoping for a role transition (which was obvious from my resume), these can be challenging and organisations should only sign up for something like if they are serious about it.

I would have hoped that there was a bit more in-depth walkthrough of where the role fits into the rest of the organisation and specifics of kind of work being undertaken.

Specifics upfront would help candidates draw out specific bits of the experience that are relevant to the job role. I experienced lots of moment where I had an absolute mental blank attempting to answer questions.

I applied online. I interviewed at Foxtel (Sydney) in July 2019.

    Interview

Good. Very good panel. I was looking more for a technical role and the role applied was more stake holder management. The questions asked were more business analyst like while the job ad was more technical on clustering , propensity models etc.

Amazing interviewers that had a conversation with you as opposed to interviewed you. They quickly identified fit and did not waste time in making an offer. Having gone through other employers that wasted a lot of time, this was a breath of fresh air

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Foxtel (Melbourne) in April 2019.

    Interview

Totally lame and waste of time.
I applied for a data scientist via Foxtel online application form. I received an email that I passed the first stage and is under the hiring manager review. Later, I received an email that I am invited to a phone interview including motivation, interest and my skills and experience.

on the day on interview, I received a call from Foxtel on time. However, on the other side was inexperienced and unprofessional hr person. She told me that she is going to ask some question, and she will type the answer (what an outdated and lame system!!!!!!, seriously!!!!!) the way she was asking the questions was like reading a long question from a book/test/document??? I found it very inconvenient to interact. it was like hiring a schooler or something like that. I was not like a professional and friendly at all. There was not any technical question. for me with years on experiences, this was significantly a low-level interview with little contribution to Foxtel talent acquisition.

these sort of questions could be asked at the first stage, not at the second, nor the third. I expected to have an interview with the hiring manager or someone more professional.

Besides, there was not a single question of skill and technical question.

After the phone interview, I found it an absolute waste of time to apply for this position and prepare myself for the interview. If a firm/company selection/hiring and talent acquisition are like that, you would probably imagine and expect that how the system works, and who you are going to work with.

To my experience, Foxtel interview was very disappointing. I was likely was not offered the job, as I was informed a few hours after the phone interview (supposedly!!!!). even if I was offered the job, I would have certainly turned down the offer.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Foxtel (Melbourne) in April 2019.

    Interview

The HR called and asked two questions like why you are interested in Foxtel and what actionable insight you produced before. Sounds like that they have already had someone and not seeking others.

It did not check the review of another interviewee otherwise I did not waste my time. The HR was rude and showed no respect at all. I've never had the anger after a phone interview but this one irritated me. Out of my expect, the foxtel people can behave in such rude behavior.

    Interview

Received an email over a week ago advising that my resume has been passed on to the hiring manager. Never heard back. This morning I received a text message saying I’ve been sent an email for an interview. I checked but other than my name and the position the time and date had xxx and parts that should be edited weren’t. I responded asking for it to be resent and received a reply saying there was a system error and I didn’t get an interview. How embarrassing.

    Product Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in North Ryde
    No Offer
    Negative Experience

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Foxtel (North Ryde) in January 2018.

    Interview

Applied online and there was email screening a week later. Not sure if this is the new process with Foxtel but almost 9-10 emails to assess candidate and arrange an interview date which could have been easily done in 1-2 phone calls.

Seems like Foxtel Product teams are arranged as per their line of businesses like the tangible products Foxtel iQ3, Broadband, Phone in 1 silo and then there is myFoxtel and mobile apps in another silo. Again this could have been explained by the HR person who never called to evaluate candidate fit and the position description provided prior to the interview was totally different to the Job ad! The role was for the mobile apps who are basically Product owners and had no idea what to make of the candidate's experience, questions to ask, and basically a whole lot uncomfortable, for everyone in the room!

    Interview Questions

    • As mentioned this was result of a badly written job ad, then followed with a non-existent screening, and followed up with an awkward interview with senior product owners.   Answer Question
