I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (New York, NY) in Feb 2024
Long and tedious interview process. HR took forever to get back to me. Didn’t get the job because I didn’t pass the HR screen. Everyone I talked to was really nice, but we got off on the wrong foot.

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Minneapolis, MN) in Nov 2023
They were very quickly and timely. I spoke with a recruiter at a career fair and that same evening they let me know they wanted to interview me. Both rounds of the interview are half behavioral half technical and the technical questions were basic programming/theory that one should know.

It was all STAR questions, really no technical questions beyond the standard HR STAR question list. If you have 10 or so of these typical stories in the back pocket then you should be just fine

They use the Star method to interview. There are multiple one on one interviews with different managers across the department where you are applying. Sometimes if you are in person they will give a quick tour of their department.
