- First round was phone screen with the recruiter, reviewed resume, position, and company information. - Second round was a technical interview with two engineers. Joined a Google Meet, standard coding interview with screen share. - Final round video chat w/ founder, was supposed to be just a "meet and greet". I fully completed every question on the technical interview, communicated solutions and my thought process well, and really enjoyed chatting with the team. I thought they were a good fit. There appeared to be a disconnect between the recruiter/engineers and the founder. Founder was hung up on some of the smaller details of my resume, and did not listen to me when I answered his questions (some needed to be asked/answered several times, and I am not confident I was heard at all). Founder continued to undermine my experience and decided that I would only be qualified for entry level (despite 10+ years experience, currently at Lead level). Asked me to answer solutions in plain Javascript (technical interview was in React) and did not seem to understand my solutions. I ended up withdrawing my application because I was afraid that I was going to continue having frustrating experiences with the founder. My advice to GoLinks is to make sure recruiting and engineers are in sync with what the founder is looking for. Additionally, the founder would benefit from listening closely to feedback from candidates and the rest of the interview team.
