The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in July 2011
Interview
Contacted within a week of applying for a job. Was told it would be 30 minute interview, so I prepared for three days learning all I could about Google. Get the call and it last four minutes. Not only did he not explain the position at all, he asked me two questions to verify my GPA in my major and an explanation of a job. He then asked if I liked technology. He finished by asking me to send him an email of articles I've written in bullet point form. And that's it. Haven't heard back, despite a few follow-up emails. Overall, a really discouraging process.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google (South San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2021
Interview
Very professional. I went through a recruiter then 2 hiring managers, then panel interview rounds. The questions were very straight forward and I was then asked to do a take-home case study and supply 2 writing samples.
Recruiter was helpful in the beginning but the process ended abruptly after a phone screen and having turned in a case study to them. No feedback was given. Not even on the work I've done up.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Google (New York, NY)
Interview
Was contacted via email and told that I was being considered for the position based on my qualifications. I was then set up with the HR rep to complete a phone screen. After the phone screen I was asked to submit a writing sample. The writing sample was then reviewed by the hiring manager who then contacted me for a 30 minute phone interview.
