I was overqualified for this position but I wanted to give it a try anyways. Firstly, I was informed that it was for a higher level but just 1 hour before the interview I got an email from the recruiter that they out of nowhere decided to downgrade the level by 1 level meaning the package going down by 5000£. I was suspicious but because I spent good time preparing for the interview, I wanted still give it a try and my interview went very well. I had all the skill sets that they asked for and more. Also, I come with strong experience from top 4. So I was pretty confident. I was informed during the interview about the next steps and that they will come back in a day. And boom I was rejected. I am okay with rejection and I understand it as a hiring manager myself. I am open to failures and learning from them. But this was all fishy from the start and it ended the way I kinda expected. Ground rules when you interview for someone- 1. Never set wrong expectations 2. Never discuss about next steps in detail unless you are sure about the results 3. You never downgrade a level in like few hours lol. Anyways, it was a learning but I have decided to never apply for gopuff because of the experience I had with their recruitment team. I have given couple of interviews in other places that didnt go well but it was a pleasant experience to be associated with them for a short period of time and this was not it.
