I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at H&R Block (Roseville, MN) in Dec 2012
Interview
I received an automated email inviting me to interview chose from a list of times. The office had a very strong smoke odor. The interview was short and I was very disappointed by the low pay of $8.50/hr.
They don't openly tell you much about the job, so come prepared with questions. I'm glad I read this site first so I was prepared for the low pay. Even though it's temporary they are paying experienced people a wage for a 16 year old. My son makes more than this at a local grocery store. Only take this job if you have no other prospects because it's unlikely you will make much money here because they may only schedule you 4 hours week. They also expect you to travel to more than one office locally which is an added drawback for this job.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had a stressful work situation and how did you resolve it?
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at H&R Block (Akron, OH) in Dec 2017
Interview
The hiring and interviewing process was extremely laid back. The laid back nature of the whole thing, at least for me, helped ease a lot of anxiety I probably would have had otherwise. The interview felt more like a conversation than an interview. It didn't feel like I was being drilled with questions and then judged upon my answers. This helped me to actually be able to portray myself the way I wanted to.

Brief 1:1 interview that primarily focused on work experience and skills as well as discussing employee availability. Easy, friendly, comfortable interview that took place in a cubicle at the office I now work at. I was offered and accepted the position at the end of the interview.
