I was message on LinkedIn by their Talent Acquisition Consultant to apply for a Sales Manager role so I replied back saying I was interested and sent my CV through. After not hearing anything for 4 days I gave them a call to ask when an interview would be booked and to that they said they would get back to me. Eventually the first interview was booked and I spent a number of hours preparing for the interview, learning about the company and what they do and sell.
The interview its self was pretty standard and the questions where not that difficult but the Talent Acquisition Consultant did keep saying that my answers where very good which made me think the interview went well and that they would get back to me in a week and a half because the CEO was going on PTO.
After the week and a half goes by I still hadn't heard back from them so I messaged the Talent Acquisition Consultant on LinkedIn and got no reply so again I called them and again I was told they would get back to me. Later that day I got an generic email thanking me for my time and effort with no feed back.
HCPA made it very clear that they didn't respect my time or effort as there was a very low level of accountability and transparency within their recruitment process. If you are going to head hunt someone don't wait for the candidate to chase you to book the first interview, be transparent and let the candidate know clear next steps and be genuine in your response to their questions and lastly be accountable and provide feedback into why a candidate isn't moving forward after they have taken the time to interview with you
