I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at IHOP (Irvington, NJ) in Mar 2015
Interview
I applied online via snag-a-job.com. I received a phone call the next day. I was interviewed the following day. I had to wait a long time along with other applicants. It was very busy. The location seemed kind of dirty to be honest and the employees seemed off. One guy didn't know how to clean correctly. One woman was talking about the job in a negative light. I don't think I would have accepted the offer if offered because of that reason. I wasn't even asked any question because of my lack of work experience. However, that should have been my opportunity to sell myself. The place wasn't that great though.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IHOP (Tucson, AZ) in Nov 2025
Interview
The interview process entailed of the Manager giving me a rundown of what to expect working there and ensuring if I was okay with all the listed duties, I wasn't asked many questions.
The interview process was straight forward. I went in, asked for an application, filled it out, spoke to the manager, and I got the job within a few days. One of the questions I asked was if they did direct deposit, and they don't, they give paper checks instead.
The process was swift, and they got back to me in a short amount of time. The store manager was kind and friendly. It is like the usual food service industry interview process.
