After an initial phone interview, a meeting was setup with the CEO. My initial reaction was that she was unprepared and rushed. The conversation had a beguiled flow to it with a feigned feel as many of the questions were unrelated to the role. The pedigree of many who are in management roles are from top schools, yet wanted someone to come in run the office that pays much less than someone coming out of college from a good program. I have done my homework before going to the interview, which included reviewing the web site. I find it ironic that a firm that prides itself on content, messaging and branding could present to prospective clients a site full of typos, inconsistencies and lifeless visuals. You only get one chance to make an impression – relying on cronies and relational contacts will go so far. There are too many questions and concerns to make it worth pursuing.
