I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Jumpcut in June 2019
Interview
I applied through the job ad on StackOverflow. I received a response a few days later in which I was assigned to complete a 30 minute test on Hackerrank.com.
The 30 minute test had multiple choice questions as well as open ended questions. I was able to write answer to open ended questions because of my quick typing. Someone with slow typing may not be able to answer all questions within 30 minutes.
After that the Director of Engineering scheduled a 30 minute call with me. In that call he introduced me to the company and ask me about my background and work experience. He also answered any questions I had regarding the company. He also guided me to the next step which was a 2 hour technical interview.
I had a 2 hour technical interview. It was divided into separate sections which included live coding, refactoring debugging a React app and questions related to web app architecture and scalability.
After I cleared the technical interview I was to have a 30 minute call with Kong, the CEO of the company. This interview was rescheduled and delayed because during my interview process the hiring for the position was put on hold.
After about 2 weeks of silence, I received an email from Jumpcut that they would like to continue my interview and arranged my final interview with the CEO.
The CEO asked about my approach towards learning, self-discipline and time management and especially how I manage and work with other people.
About 1 hour after my interview with the CEO I had received the offer.

Question 1
There is a full-stack web app running in a cloud (i.e. AWS) and I wanted to migrate everything over to another cloud (i.e. Digital Ocean). How can I do this without facing any downtime or maintenance time?

I applied online. I interviewed at Jumpcut in Dec 2018
Interview
After applying for the job on their website, I got an acknowledgment from the COO of the company. After proper review, I was asked to provide more information about myself, experience and so on. This was basically for them as a company to get to know me more.
I provided the information as requested and was scheduled for a 5 minutes video meeting. After the meeting, a task to test my real world coding skills was shared with via email. I put a lot of effort into completing the task and to be honest, I learned a lot during the process.
After my project was evaluated, I had the opportunity of chatting with the Engineering team lead who gave me feedback as regards my task and provided some suggestions based on the company's coding standard.
Hi there -- Peter here. Really appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and I’m happy to hear you’re pleased overall!
We’d like to thank you for talking to our team and for giving us the opportunity to get to know you. I’m glad to hear you learned a lot in the coding challenge. Thanks so much for considering Jumpcut and best of luck in both your job search and in your future endeavors!
Peter
