      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mindspace (Amsterdam) in July 2018

      Interview

I applied online, got an email 2 days later with an invitation for a Sunday interview. The length of the interview was 15 min, as the recruiter stated at the beginning of the video call. The recruiter was respectful and friendly. The day I interviewed I sent a thank you note along with more info about my experience. One week after the interview , I reached out to the recruiter and she told me that they are still interviewing other candidates. 2 weeks after I got an automated rejection email. I followed up again to ask for feedback but I never got a reply. I am disappointed for not having the chance for a proper interview. I genuinely admire the company, but the interview process disappointed me.

Thank you for your feedback, we are constantly improving our recruitment process. Our candidate's experience is one of our main priorities, and our aim is to be as clear and transparent as possible. The first step of the process is a short interview- the purpose is to learn a little bit about the candidate's experience and give the candidate an opportunity to learn more about Mindspace and the position. Usually, we give our candidates a few different options for dates for the interview. Some of them prefer Sunday for personal reasons. We took your feedback into consideration and we will continue to improve our hiring process.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Mindspace (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2018

      Interview

I applied online and was contacted shortly for a phone interview. It was a video conference and the interviewer asked a lot of specific questions as to how I would handle situations that seemed "odd" and clearly showed the "culture" and "values" of this company. Example questions were asking how I would manage my team's concerns about working long hours or not receiving bonuses for a job well done--how would I manage that? Wow, that tells me exactly what to expect from working there! Upon learning more about the expectations and duties of the role, it seemed like the company wanted to hire a Managing Director to have full responsibility of the facility, staff and operations without the proper job title and salary that position would demand. Additionally the interviewer did not follow the legal requirements to provide me with a salary range when requested, per CA laws that were recently passed.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you manage your team's expectations for a bonus for meeting their sales goals if the company cannot provide bonuses?

Thank you for your feedback. Sometimes interviewers will ask tough questions in order to assess how a candidate would handle potential difficult situations at work, as a manager, even if they are not always completely realistic. With that being said, we do appreciate your time in writing us about your experience and we would like to ensure we will take your comments into account in order to improve our process.
