Planner/Buyer Interview

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Most questions in both phone and in person interviews pertained to my job experience, and how it related to the position applied for, including knowledge of MRP systems, methods of forecasting and ordering, etc. There were a couple questions asking to describe projects led, or difficult situations that I had to deal with.

All communication up to and including in person interview was quick and professional, and interview itself was easygoing but also informative, and had good questions that related directly to the position. I came away thinking I was very well suited for the position and had a good chance at receiving an offer. I wasn't given an exact time frame for decision at the end, but hiring manager said they thought decision would be made quickly. After not hearing anything for 1 week I followed up to check on the status, and was advised there was a little delay because someone had been out of the office a couple days. When 2 more weeks went by without hearing anything I assumed I was out of the running, but followed up anyways, and was told the company had decided on an internal candidate.
