      Data Science Intern Interview

      25 Feb 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal

      Interview

Pretty standard. Hire view interview. And then a technical round with the lead data scientist.Live SQL coding , python coding and a case study interview. I found the SQL and python questions to me easy- medium range. If you have background in computer science, you can easily clear the interview. I would suggest to prep for the case study part tho

      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at NBCUniversal in June 2025

      Interview

I interviewed for the Peacock Data and Decision Sciences Team. Hirevue (behavioral questions) -> 1 hour technical interview -> offer. The technical interview consisted of 30 min relatively easy Python and SQL live coding questions, 15 min resume questions, and 15 min case study. I was asked about my ML and statistical modeling experience as well as my experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for my resume questions. Case study was not too bad, just make sure to review things like business acumen and customer lifetime value (CLV).

      Question 1

Explain the algorithm/math behind Principal Component Analysis (PCA).

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at NBCUniversal (New York, NY) in May 2025

      Interview

It was easy first round of the higher view, and then they selected people to do the second round usually it’s technical. However, the higher view is probably the most important part cause as for the filter people out.
