A project manager reached out to me on LinkedIn and set up an interview for me with a recruiter for XO by Newell Brands. The recruiter was very pleasant and we had a great discussion about the mobile opportunities and my background. The recruiter told me he would get back to me in a week. I followed up after a week to which the recruiter told me they could not make me an offer because they were looking for a more senior developer and already hired him... a day after interviewing me apparently. What was the point of interviewing me (a junior candidate) if you were looking for a senior candidate? It was highly unprofessional and a weak excuse. The recruiter was honestly awesome to chat with, but pulling a fast one like that is a bad look for a startup.
