I applied online. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Seattle, WA)
Interview
Long process but easy questions.
Had 8 interviews. Really not needed when you have good interviewers.
Starts with recruiter, then the hiring manager. Then you move to panel. No case study.
Great experience in the interview process. Coworkers were nice to share lots of great working environments and experience. Hiring managers are nice and friendly. It will be great the process timeline can be shorter.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Seattle, WA) in July 2024
Interview
Applied online and received an email from a recruiter to set up an interview within a week. Initial screening was just a review of the role and some questions about my experience. I moved on to the next stage with the hiring manager and that interview was scheduled for the following week. The interview with the hiring manager was also mostly questions about my experience with no real hard hitters or stumping questions. I thought this one went really well and I felt we had a great rapport. I again moved on to the next (and what they said was final) round with another Director in a similar department but someone who was not on the hiring team itself and does a slightly different type of work than the role I was applying for. I thought it went well although this interview had more of the typical STAR response type questions you see at Big Tech. There were one or two questions I hadn't prepared for, so I had underdeveloped responses as my current industry doesn't really focus on the STAR "check-the-boxes" questions in interviews and I don't have a lot of experience with that interview style. Was told at the end of the interview that I would hear back in a couple days. A week went by with radio silence so I reached out to the recruiter to check in. Again no response. It's been two weeks now without a follow up so I decided to check the career site and see that my application has moved to the dreaded "No Longer Under Consideration". Overall everyone I spoke with was really nice and I felt like we had great conversations, but I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after they went dark on me. It's the name of the game these days, but as other have said it doesn't take much time to give someone who has put a lot of effort into multiple interviews a courtesy follow up when things go south.
