      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Pendo (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2021

      Interview

Recruiter called but definitely did not prepare to interview me. Mentioned she wants to learn more about my past work experiences and asked about a project I did rather than an old position. At the end, mentioned I wasn't a fit as the position was more Senior. I felt like the recruiter could have easily figured that out off quick glance at my resume

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Pendo (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2021

      Interview

Applied on LinkedIn and heard from the recruiter relatively quickly to setup an initial call a few days later. Spent time studying the company and prepping for the call. First thing she said was "I'm just looking at your resume now..Do you have any customer facing experience"? Yes, almost all my experience is customer facing. then, "Do you have experience with mobile"? I have significant experience building mobile friendly web apps but not much in building IOS and Android apps with mobile specific frameworks. Is that what you are referring to? "IDK the manager said we really just need someone who is good with mobile". Ok well it depends exactly what they are referring to, mobile-friendly or mobile frameworks.."Ok I don't think you're a fit, we just changed the job description to must have mobile experience." Clearly never looked at my resume, portfolio, or Github until I was literally on the phone with her..then just made me feel like an absolute idiot because I don't know mobile frameworks? At least know what you are asking candidates before the interview and vette resumes for "knowing mobile" as an absolute necessity. I won't even get into what it means to know how to use a framework and actually knowing how to write code. The job description says "1+ year of professional experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and/or Mobile Development". Get it together Pendo.io

      Technical Success Engineer Interview

      30 Mar 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Raleigh, NC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Pendo (Raleigh, NC) in Jan 2018

      Interview

The process was in 5 steps for me. 1. Phone screen with recruiting to talk about role, Salary expectation. 2. 30 minute phone interview with the TS team lead 3. Took an online, recorded, tech test of basic problem solving, HTML/Java Script basics. Test was said to focus more on how you think and research to find answers than your immediate knowledge of the tech itself. 4. On-site 2 1/2 hr interview with 3 team members and the team lead again. Team was great to talk to, each person had a slightly different personality, but all were friendly. Had good open conversation. 5. Executive Interview with the director of Customer Success, then the CEO of the company. CS director asked me about my previous software support position and how it is similar/different from the role I was applying for. CEO, Todd, was a bit hard to read when he first entered the room, but after about 5 mins of conversation he opened up and was enjoyable to interview with.
