I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Penn State (State College, PA) in June 2011
Interview
The interview process is extremely long and tiresome. You have a presentation, followed by a meeting with a panel, followed by one-on-ones with sometimes multiple people. You should expect to be there for 3 to 3 and half hours for the entire process. In addition, Penn State takes their time to get back to candidates leaving you questioning if you have gotten the job - I would not expect a quick turn around. The interview questions were not difficult, pretty straight forward and tailored to your experience.
There were several people interviewed me. They asked me about the collaboration and independent working environment. Also ask me to use several words describe myself. Most of the questions are basic questions

Interview
I had to go through 4 rounds of interviews, most interviewers were very disinterested, I recommend trying your best to be as naturally energetic as you can. You should also be ready to set time apart for a presentation, I'm guessing they're trying to assess your presentation skills.
