      Full Stack Software Engineer Interview

      5 Aug 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Postscript (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2020

      Interview

My experience interviewing with postscript was long and drawn out. 4 or 5 video interviews plus a coding assignment + video call for review. Not exactly a light assignment either. Finally, one or two more video meetings. As much as postscript preaches diversity, it seems like you’ll have a much better chance of being hired if you’re exactly like them.

      Question 1

What is your experience working with Python?

Thank you for sharing the experience you had interviewing with us, and your thoughts on Postscript's diversity. We aim for everyone to have a positive experience throughout our interviewing process which is very thorough and for our top candidates, it can take several weeks as every stage of our hiring process is highly competitive. We appreciate your transparency about feeling the process was long and drawn out, and if you felt that any stage of the process wasn't as great as it could be, we would love to hear more of your feedback so we can improve. It sounds like you were a top candidate, having made it so far in the process. As for diversity, our People team is hard at work to foster an inclusive workplace for all people. Postscript is an ever-evolving place of equal employment for talented individuals and we value bringing in people from all backgrounds. We do have core values that we intentionally screen for, which may be the consistency you picked up on. Those core values are listed here: https://www.postscript.io/about-us/ If ever you want to connect and provide more feedback, please reach out to us via our live chat and our Support team will quickly connect you with the right person. -Cailee

      Full Stack Developer Interview

      23 July 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Postscript in June 2020

      Interview

I initially scheduled a date with their calendar management software, but it was rescheduled a couple days later. Then, the reschedule was rescheduled as well. The only interview that I had was a one on one with a talent acquisition person. They were there to ask and record my answers for the CEO (Adam Turner) to review later. The interview seemed to go well, and I was told that there were no glaring issues with my answers or experience. Afterwards, I was told that I would be contacted by Adam in the next day or so. However, I never received any communication from him, but only a very generic rejection letter from their application management software. I then reached out to the talent person who I had been in contact with to thank them for their time and to ask for feedback. I certainly do not think that any prospective employer owes me anything and vice versa, but they never simply replied to my message, even with a "we don't provide specific feedback" or a "there were just better candidates" generic response. It made me feel that once I was identified as a non-candidate, then even talking to me to ensure that my overall interview experience remained positive (even after a rejection) was a waste of their time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience interviewing with Postscript. We are very disappointed that this happened to you and have made many changes since you interviewed last year, including significantly expanding our Recruiting team. While this is definitely no excuse for how your experience went, we want to share that you unfortunately encountered some of our earliest growing pains. July of 2020 we were a significantly smaller team than we are today, working through an extremely high volume of tasks and applicants. Feedback like yours helps us identify our weak points and continuously improve, so genuinely, thank you for coming here and helping us. Today, we are putting priority on expanding our People team and amazing Recruiters so that every step of our experience can be positive. As you continue your career journey, if you ever find yourself on our Careers page again, we welcome you to apply and hope that you will find our experience today much different than last year in positive ways. Wishing you the best! -Cailee
