I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Purple (Alpine, UT) in Aug 2019
Interview
I received an initial email for a logic assessment which was a brilliant way to expedite the process of candidates so they didn't have to wait an additional period of time (given on a Friday). Following that assessment I received an email from my current manager arranging an in-person interview, which was through Calendly (email received that following Monday).
I had a great experience when I came in to my first in-person (and final) interview (Wednesday, 2 days later -- that was the earliest that I could come in). The interviewer, is now my current manager, and he made me feel welcomed. He answered all my questions that I had had and was very transparent about the changes that he was working towards and how that would better the environment that I would be working in. The interview was not like any traditional developer interview I had before. He asked me some brain teaser questions where he offered me support throughout this entire process whenever I needed a little nudge. The interview lasted only an hour. I heard back the following week because there were some more interviewees.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Purple (Lehi, UT) in Nov 2021
Interview
It was a pretty straightforward process. Contacted by recruiter on LinkedIn, had a chat. First interview with Purple was with the dev manager and one other guy, one hour long. Both were super nice and asked a lot of questions about past experience. No getting peppered with technical definitions or whiteboarding nonsense. Second interview was with my future dev lead and product manager, they had a bunch of questions about past experience and again there was no definitions or leet code. They seemed more concerned about past experience and how it would fit their team.

Interview
Was very straight forward. I think they were low on staff at the time so there was very little push on making the interview difficult. I only had to go through one interview.
You meet with the interviewer, they ask generic interview questions and may even ask questions specific to the position you are interviewing for. I had questions that had to do with problem-solving. The interviewer was very professional and answered questions I had about working for the company and specifics about the position I was interviewing for.
