      I interviewed at Remote

      Interview

They present themselves as unusually transparent and candidate-friendly, which made the actual experience more disappointing than it otherwise would have been. The interview process was organised and everyone was pleasant, but the late-stage feedback felt so vague and polished that it came across more like brand management than genuine transparency. It was the kind of feedback that sounds official and thoughtful until you realise it gives you nothing concrete to work with. For a company that seems very proud of how it treats candidates, I expected something more candid and useful. Also worth noting: for a company whose identity is built around remote work, the flexibility felt more restricted than the branding suggests, and the compensation did not feel especially compelling relative to the level of experience they seemed to want. Overall, not a chaotic process, just one that left me with a strong sense of ‘please be serious.'

Thank you for sharing this feedback — and for acknowledging that the process felt organised and that the people you met were pleasant. We’re sorry to hear that our late-stage feedback came across as vague or overly polished, especially given the expectations we set around transparency and candidate experience. Feedback should be clear and useful, and we recognise how frustrating it is to invest significant time and leave without concrete takeaways you can apply going forward. Thank you again for taking the time to be candid — we’ll use this to keep improving how we communicate, how we support candidates through decisions, and how we live up to the standards we set publicly.
