      Tech QA Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Riot Games

      Interview

Attended a recruiting event on campus, though I was set on applying before that. Afterwards, applied online (in October) and was sent a coding project/challenge about 2 weeks later. Completed that, and got good feedback and a phone interview about a week after that. The phone interview was an hour long conversation with two full time employees. It didn't have any traditional "coding questions" or anything that made it feel like a test, which was awesome. I didn't expect much after the phone interview, but I got notified about two weeks after that (late November) that they'd like to bring me in for an onsite visit. Onsite consisted of 5 interviews, most of which were semiformal. Like the phone interview, I didn't get many coding questions, and many of the questions were logic/problem solving to see how I thought. A lot of the interview questions had some relevance to the game and weren't just random theory questions. Later I got a tour of the campus and overall had a great time there, feeling a lot better leaving that than after the phone interview. Went home and got an offer about a month later :) (due to winter break).

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Riot Games (Hong Kong) in June 2019

      Interview

Several layers of interviews: many about cultural fit and some technical assessments. After 4 rounds, on-site experience with 6 more interviews. They really adapted the process to my needs and pace; offering a lot of help and accommodating anything I could ask for. We also covered in length the recent news that Riot was involved in (regarding the Kotaku article and Culture), which was both reassuring and helped me understand how are they working on improving the situation. It was time and energy consuming, but I understood the reasoning behind the process.
