      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Spectrum (Orlando, FL) in Mar 2025

      Interview

I’ve been in the IT industry for 9 years, working with top international organizations, so I have seen my fair share of hiring processes. However, my experience with Spectrum’s recruiter was by far the worst I’ve encountered. I applied for the Enterprise Technical Support 1 role, and almost immediately received contact from the recruiter. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. From the start, her attitude was rude and dismissive, making me feel like she was just “selling” jobs rather than genuinely interested in finding the right fit. She asked me to send my resume and confirm my availability. Once I did that, she said she’d send me an invite for an interview. However, she didn’t specify whether it was going to be a video call, phone interview, or a walk-in. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I waited. On the day she was supposed to reach out, she called me and asked a few questions. After I answered them, she stated she might call back the next day, or maybe Friday, or possibly not at all. I then asked her a simple question: What’s the salary range for the position, and is there a second or third round of interviews? Her response? “I’m not telling you the salary range right now, and there’s only one interview. Do you have any other questions?” When I asked no further questions, I felt like she couldn’t care less about providing any clarity or professionalism in this process. Later that night, at 10:30 PM, I received an email saying they had decided not to move forward with my application. This was after a poor, rushed interview with no clear communication about the role or expectations. I truly expected better from a reputable company like Spectrum. It’s a shame that such a great company would entrust its hiring process to someone with no recruiting expertise, no respect for candidates, and zero professionalism. Please, Spectrum, do better and hire competent recruiters who actually care about representing your company in a positive light.
