Saw a sign on the door, and applied online. The application included an extensive, sometimes disturbing questionnaire which must be designed as a psych evaluation, personality test, or something. Page after page of questions like, "Do you like to go out at night?" and "Have you ever lost a friend in a fight?" I never thought the questionnaire was going to end. But it did, and I had an interview at this location. The person who interviewed me was very warm and friendly. Although part of that was probably because the store had been suffering a high turnover rate, it was also genuine. I started the job a week later and suffered through a week and a half of absolutely horrible online training programs. At least I was getting paid, but I was quite literally bored to tears sitting in that dank room with plaster walls. There were no decorations in the room, except for one 11" by 17" poster, which was a photograph of the very room I was sitting in. Staring into that photograph for long periods of time as the people in the training video blathered on about nothing nearly killed me. Part of the training included a ten minute video explaining how Staples was your family and how unions were just big businesses trying to get my money. This from an enormous, extremely profitable corporation that was paying me 8.65 an hour. The video was filled with pretty inflammatory lies, and I questioned the legality of the video as I watched it.

Form application and general interview to assess your motivation. Met with two of 3 managers. Was informed immediately after the interview and introduced to coworkers. Onboarding was quick. Scheduling was simply done.
