I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at State Farm (Bloomington, IL) in Oct 2010
Interview
They do not like to hire interns on F1 visa. So they just mock interviewed me. I had to sum up my strengths and weaknesses. They asked a few questions about the presentations I did in the past. I also described how I interact and get along with people in a new environment.
My advice to interview candidates is very simple. KNOW YOUR RESUME. They ask questions based on stuff you put on your resume.
I applied online. I interviewed at State Farm (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
Online but not with an actual person. Just the screening of first time candidates where you film yourself and get two chances to answer. The preparation was 30 seconds for each answer but you had two takes which were 3 minutes long.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at State Farm (Bloomington, IL) in July 2022
Interview
Did not like how it was mainly myself having to prerecord answers instead of talking with someone. The proprietary app was also very buggy and didnt seem to be any better than just a simple zoom call
I applied online. I interviewed at State Farm in Sept 2020
Interview
Interview through HireVue, questions would come up on screen and would have 30 seconds to prepare and then answer. Was not a fan of the process because I do not think that interview questions should be 'one size fits all' and should be personalized based on the candidate, experience and job position
