Poor interview process from start to finish.
The recruiter couldn't explain the job scope properly and asked me to ask the hiring manager. The hiring manager's interview was one of the worst I've ever experienced. He arrived 10 minutes late to the video interview, didn't apologize or give an acknowledgement that he was late, and finished the interview in 9 minutes. During the interview, while I was introducing myself and giving a background of my experience, he put me on mute and started talking/yelling to someone in another room. While I appreciate that working from home is distracting, this gives me a really poor image of Stripe as a company.
To worsen an already bad interview experience, he didn't ask any job-related questions. All of the questions he asked were centered around why I left each job. At the end of the 5 minutes of his questions, I had to offer to explain why I am qualified for the job and what I could bring to the table. He muted himself again and I could see the reflection in his glasses that he had already changed screens and was doing something else.
Needless to say, I already knew this was a failed interview (despite me being qualified for the job and being able to quantify what I could uniquely bring to the company), so I ended my one-sided speech and thanked him for his time.
I would not recommend giving too much time to any interview in this company, especially if you are looking to stay for long at your next role. Either the company pushes its interviewers too hard (thus requiring them to multi-task even during interviews) or the people (or worse, the managers) are rude and do not have people-managing skills.
