      Teller 1-3 Interview

      21 Jan 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Tampa, FL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SunTrust (Tampa, FL) in Nov 2017

      Interview

I applied online. You have a teller assessment to take that’s an hour long but you gotta be patient with it so you can pass it. Got an email the next day from a recruiter and asked me to do an audio interview on their website. I’ve never done an interview like this before. They ask you some questions and you record your answers. You’re not talking to a person or the camera, but interacting with the website so it makes it less nerve-wrecking if you’re already nervous. The first 10 questions were pretty easy, basic yes or no questions about yourself, then the remaining 9 questions you gotta get more detailed. Asks you things about your past jobs, any banking experience, situational questions. After that I received another email from the recruiter about an in-person interview with the Branch Manager. The email tells you to prepare for role-playing but that didn’t happen at my interview. It lasted about 30 minutes, some situational questions similar to the virtual interview, some questions about experience. The interview went very well and he was very friendly. Later on that same day I was called back by the Branch Manager for a second interview the next day with the Area Manager. It was more of a get-to-know-you kind of interview, very easy going and lasted about 20 minutes. He was very friendly as well and I thought the interviews went great. A week later I received a call from the Branch Manager offering me a position for Universal Banker because I was overqualified. I have no prior banking experience but lots of customer service/retail/sales experience and they were impressed by my willingness to learn about financing. The position I was offered sounded like a great opportunity and better than I expected so I accepted. Before you start you take your fingerprint test, background test, and drug test, and they send you a bank security course to take on your own time.
