I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Salvation Army (Webster, MA)
Interview
There was no real interview. We sat down in the drop off room, the assistant manager read off my resume, explained briefly what the Salvation Army is about and asked how quickly I could start.
This seemed like a location specific issue but the assistant manager talked for a good 15 minutes about how 'tough' she was as a divorced mother of x children, how many people she had fired since the stores opening, and to watch out for the shady people that come through the door. These were all red flags and had I not been desperate for a job I would have immediately declined.

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Salvation Army (Garden City, MI) in June 2024
Interview
There's pretty much no interview process. They will call you in to fill out paperwork and then your almost immediately hired in. Anyone can work here. Make sure to ask questions about the job and why is it such a high turn over rate.
I interviewed at The Salvation Army (Tallahassee, GA)
Interview
A paper application and then in person interview with the manager. The interview only lasted about 20 minutes and was to the point. The paper application asked a variety of questions but most were standard.

I applied in-person. I interviewed at The Salvation Army
Interview
Asked if hiring, was given an unexpected on-the-stop interview. Was not prepared to interview whatsoever. They commented on my tattoos and nose piercing and would not allow them to show despite how professional I looked otherwise.

Question 1
They asked basic questions for retail. They seemed desperate, but not desperate enough for someone that has tattoos
