      Interview

Applied online, got the phone interview invite, talked with the recruiter. Pretty normal process i would say, and the recruiter was nice. She say they will follow up with next steps, but I didn't hear anything back afterwards.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Thumbtack in Nov 2021

      Interview

      1. Recruiter reached out - Recruiter Chat 2. Research Walkthrough 3. Onsite Interview that included: -Presentation, (Another) Research Walkthrough, 2 1:1 Interviews Honestly the interviews were pretty easy but, you can tell that they care very little about diversity. This was the first company that I interviewed with that felt "off". If you are looking for growth then make sure you ask. The hiring manager was very transparent when they said that there wouldn't be room for growth in the near future. If you care about diversity, take some time and look at their reviews. Their interview panel was very telling of their perspective.

      UX Researcher Interview

      3 Mar 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA

      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Thumbtack (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2021

      Interview

The interview was easy, and the questions were mostly about my background, past experience, research methods used in past projects, and my experience working with a team. The recruiter started the interview by asking me questions, and at the end, I asked my questions and I got to know information about the culture of the company, the team, and the projects they were working on. The recruiter did a good job to make me feel at ease.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about your background. What research methods did you use? Can you explain a bit more what you did in your research projects? What are the biggest challenges that you faced during these projects? Are you leaning more towards qualitative methods or quantitative? Have you worked with a team? Tell me about that. Where are you based in?
