I applied online March 24. I took my test at a testing center two days later. After that, I was contacted on April 9 to schedule a face-to-face interview. The scheduling of the interview was very rigid. The postmaster was only scheduling all interviews on one day, so I had to leave my current job early that day to make the interview. The interview was very laid-back, and the interviewer was very nice and polite. She was also very straightforward and told me that hours could range anywhere from 20 to 60 hrs per week, and that some days I could be coming in as early as 1 am. She also explained that it is a temporary position, and that I would not receive benefits until after the first year. She knew that I had a current job that I would have to put in notice at and said that she would notify me in time to do that. After the interview, she called me the next day to offer me the job.
