I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at USI Insurance Services (Chicago, IL) in May 2021
Interview
I applied on LinkedIn. A recruiter emailed me shortly after to set up a phone call to discuss the position. They shared a decent amount of information about the position and what the day to day would look like. I moved on the second round of interviews with a regional manager. It was a very easy interview. I received a lot of positive feedback after this interview and moved on to the third interview. I spoke with two other leaders. It was very informal and I was not asked a lot of questions. They seemed like they were more interested in hearing what questions I had. I moved on to the 4th interview which was a conversation with HR. Before this call, I was sent the benefits package to look over and was told to ask questions during the call with HR. At this point, I was very certain I was getting the job. I spoke with HR about start dates, salary expectations, literally nothing about the actual job itself. and everything went well. They let me know next steps. And then I did not hear anything for 8 days. I finally reached out to them to check in on the status of the interview process. I was informed that I was not selected due to another candidate having more insurance experience. I was never asked about insurance experience, which is unfortunate because I have two years of experience. If you're applying for
this job, make sure to mention that. Not sure why I was sent information on the benefits before an offer letter was even given to me. I had a very positive time interview with USI. I only wish they had told me sooner that they were not selecting me. Each region must do things differently.

Question 1
How would you handle a situation in which a client asked for something to be taken care of on a very short notice?
I applied online. I interviewed at USI Insurance Services
Interview
After applying online, I was contacted by a recruited and walked through the basic interview questions (What made me apply, Was I willing to relocate, etc.). The recruiter was not able to provide much detail about the position. In my interview with the team, I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. It was hard not to leave the interview feeling as though I would definitely be getting an offer. A follow up phone interview with another team member in the position I was applying for was set up. It was more of a casual chat and opportunity to ask questions about the role, and I again felt confident. It was over three weeks before I received final word and I was not offered the positon as I did not have enough relevant experience. Overall, the interview process was much less stressful than others I have experienced in the field, but it made it very misleading.

Question 1
Why would I like to work for USI over their larger competitors?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at USI Insurance Services (Charlotte, NC) in Sept 2020
Interview
Seven interviews total. Sounds extreme, because it is. However, certainly appreciate the time I was able to spend with several departments, leadership and teammates that ultimately help me make more informed decisions as well.

Question 1
Typical questions. Mostly STAR questions, "tell me about a time...". Also had to role play with producers which I was not expecting for the role I was interviewing for. However, they provided a ton of background for the proposed situation which made the role playing a bit easier.
