I had a phone interview to start, lasted nearly an hour. I was then asked to come in for a face 2 face with the hiring manager, this one lasted about an hour as well. The hiring manager went as far as telling me he thought I did very well and asked me to email HR with my desire to continue with any next steps. I did so, waited a week or so and then followed up. I got a pretty quick response with a typical "we've made no decisions yet" sort of generic message. This back and forth went on for the better part of four to five weeks and then the replies just stopped. A few weeks went by and I was finally able to find out that they had hired someone else. I was disappointed with this answer and the way they handled (not) telling me. A simple email just stating that they had gone in another direction would have been so much better than just cutting me off. Overall, everyone was very nice and the experience was pretty good. I would just ask that you be courteous to the potential candidates that don't make it as well.
