Interview
You go online with someone from China who barely speaks English and they act like a really annoying child and you have to teach them, They're hard to hear and have a hard time hearing you. They don't speak English well at all. They give you a lesson to teach but don't tell you how to teach it. Which is fine if you're a teacher like me, but then they expect you to teach in a very specific way. It's very annoying and counterintuitive to how most of us teach.
We apologize for the negative experience that occurred during your application process, and we are working to make sure no miscommunication happens again in the future.
However, we're very that you ended up overcoming any issues and that you're part of the VIPKID Community! Happy teaching!

I applied online. I interviewed at VIPKid (Remote, OR) in Nov 2017
Interview
VIPKids provides you with a powerpoint and many videos to prepare for interview. The interviewer tends to add expectations during the interview. If interview is passed, then another interview called the Mock Class is scheduled. The interviewer stops the demo lesson often and there are, at times, technical issues due to internet difference in China where interviewer is.
