The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Vanguard in Apr 2012
Interview
I applied for the position through the careers services department at my university. I received a call from HR informing me that I had been chosen to come in for an interview. There were 7 other candidates. We had a general group discussion then we were separated for a 1 on 1 interview. The interviewer asked behavioral questions and hypothetical situations. Have examples prepared for questions like "when was a time you had to prioritize multiple tasks". Then another person asked me similar questions and gave me a situational case study. They're more interested in your thought process rather than right or wrong answers. All of the people were young and very friendly. Each person also held the position I was interviewing for so they could provide in depth responses to my questions.

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Vanguard in Mar 2022
Interview
Had an interview with the recruiter and then a quiz, few days later I received an offer letter from my recruiter. Overall straight forward process as long as your experience and background matches with the position you're applying for.

Question 1
Explain how you handle difficult client interactions?
I applied online. I interviewed at Vanguard in July 2020
Interview
After submitting my application (which included a situational assessment) I was contacted via email to schedule a phone interview. The initial phone screen lasted about 40 minutes and was very Behavioral based. At the end of the call, she invited me to the final interview. Final interview consisted of a group presentation going over the values and impact of Vanguard, something that is also covered on the initial phone screen. After the group video presentation, you break off to a 1-on-1 video interview with the respective branch's hiring manager. The 1-on-1 interview was similar to the initial phone screen, so be ready to answer in the STAR method. Vanguard is extremely client oriented, so be sure to stress your desire to help the average person achieve financial freedom and ability to build rapport with your clients (if that is true of course!). Additionally - if you are determined and goal oriented, be sure to mention that as the ability to learn new information is a valuable quality for this role.

Question 1
Name a time when you were unable to assist a client, and explain how you handled the situation and what the outcome was.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vanguard (Phoenix, AZ) in Apr 2019
Interview
Everyone involved made us feel very comfortable the whole interview process. Lasted about 2 hours. It was a group setting with individual interviews. Learned a lot about the company, not so much about the position itself. Tour of building included.
