I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart in June 2012
Interview
I applied online and got called about a month later to set up an interview. After talking on the phone, I had less than an hour until I got interviewed. I went straight there, waited probably 15 minutes. I first got interviewed by management (she was hourly). She asked me about 6 questions all having the same beginning part "Explain a time when..." I did not like this because my last job was very non-traditional and I did not encounter many customer service issues. Then after that interview was done I had to be interviewed by a salaried person of management. She basically asked me the same exact questions with a little more variety. Then straight from there I waited. They had already called my references. I filled out a background check paper and they gave me my drug test form and sent me on my way. They then called me 2 days later telling me to come to orientation in another 3 days. I went to orientation which took a whole day. Then for 2 days I took computer based training. After that I shaddowed someone for a day. Then someone shadowed me for a day. Then I was on my own with little experience. When I tried to ask for help, there seemed to be a shortage of CSM'S even though I knew there were at least 3 on duty.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Explain a time when you had to fix a customers problem. What was the problem and what where the steps you took to fix it?
There was a lot of questions but overall it went pretty decent. They were your standard interview questions. I am happy with the outcome but maybe I could do better next time.
Solid and very well informative process. It was straightforward and well put together. I really enjoyed the people that I interacted with and ultimately chose another route due to time constraints.
The interview was brief but straight forward. I interviewed with someone and was done within 15 minutes. They asked a few questions about myself and past job experience. Then I progressed to the next steps in the hiring process. The next steps where orientation.
