I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Yu &Co (Los Angeles, CA) in July 2022
Interview
I applied for the role in mid-June and received an interview request before the end of the month. Due to the pandemic, interviews were conducted remotely by Zoom in early July.
I went through two interview rounds and got along well with management. Both parties were mutually interested and it seemed an offer would be forthcoming.
Unfortunately, I was removed from consideration following the second interview because I could not meet one of their core requirements (access to a vehicle for office runs).
Look, I understand their position. I do. But as with many current workers, the pandemic and its financial repercussions over the last 2.5 years have left a vehicular investment simply beyond my current means. In fact, to be honest, given the size of their agency and their resources, I'm a little surprised they don't maintain at least one company car.
I would still be interested in future opportunities. But given how interested they were in bringing me aboard, I had hoped we could reach a compromise or accommodation.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Where do you see yourself and your career within 5 years?
Got the email then interview in the office in Hollywood.
After that, they gave me an office tour and asked when I'll be available. And they ghosted me like it's totally fine to waste someone's time like that which shows a lack of leadership.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yu &Co (Hollywood, CA) in Apr 2009
Interview
The interview process involved meeting the head of production and the creative head of the studio as well as counterparts in the sales process. There were multiple interviews both onsite and offsite in Hollywood. There was an expectation of familiarity both with the production process and deep relationships in the entertainment industry
